An Offering of Thanksgiving
WITH THE SAME SPIRIT OF GRATITUDE, Paul encourages Christians to give their offerings to the church cheerfully and generously. Why? Paul says in 2 Corinthians 9:11 that the giver “will be enriched in every way for all your generosity, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.” In other words, others will give thanks to God because your cheerful gifts were used to bless their lives.
With this in mind, I would like to encourage you to give to our Thanksgiving Offering this coming Sunday. It is a gift above and beyond your regular giving. It is an offering of thanks to God for his goodness to you through the church.
Has the church been a blessing in your life? Has God used WEFC to encourage you and to help you grow in your faith? If so, respond with an offering of thanksgiving unto God, and that gift will be used to allow WEFC to be a blessing to others.
Good news! We started our fiscal year in July with a negative balance of $60,000. We recently received a gift to wipe that deficit clean so that we could start the year with a $0 balance. We are grateful for such a generous gift.
Currently, we are behind in our General Fund Budget. Any monies we receive for our Thanksgiving Offering will go to address this need. Our goal is to raise $15,000. We will be collecting our Thanksgiving Offering on Sunday, November 19 and we would love to get caught up in our General Fund.
You can either bring your Thanksgiving Offering on Sunday morning or to our Thanksgiving Fest that evening at 6:00. Or you can give your gift electronically. Simply make your gift out to WEFC and designate it for the Thanksgiving Offering.
In the past, we have encouraged you to consider giving the equivalent of “one day’s wage” towards the Thanksgiving Offering. Would you consider this challenge and would you pray as to how God might direct you to participate in this Thanksgiving Offering?
“Come near; bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the house of the LORD.”
