    Baptism Service: Sunday, April 30

Baptism is a wonderful gift given to the church. It is an outward picture of the promise God has given to us through Jesus.

The picture of baptism reminds us that through our union with Christ we have been raised to a new life (Romans 6). The waters of baptism also remind us that through faith in Jesus our sins have been washed away (1 Peter 3:20-22). Finally, baptism gives testimony to the work of the Holy Spirit who brought us alive unto God (Titus 3:5).

In the New Testament, there is no such thing as an unbaptized Christian. When Jesus commissions the church to “make disciples,” the first step in that process is to “baptize them” (Matthew 28:19-20). Baptism is that ordinance that identifies you as a follower of Jesus and it identifies you with God’s people, the church.

So what are you waiting for? If you are ready to take this step of baptism, contact the church office to sign up for the baptism class on Sunday, April 9 at 12:30.
