    Capital Improvements: August Update

We’re more than thirty days into our summer expansion plans, and a lot is happening!

For safety reasons, the work on the church building started immediately after VBS was finished. The following Monday a dumpster was delivered and scaffolding went up, so work on the steeple could begin. This was followed by replacing the roof and gutters. As any homeowner knows, these types of projects aren’t glamorous, but necessary to maintain the integrity of the building. Other works in progress include clearing the area around the retention pond, landscaping, and the renovations to the 543 Maple St. property.

Since having our first experience with an internship program this summer, the 543 Maple project has begun to take on new meaning as we anticipate launching a year-round residency internship program in the future. This house will provide safe and convenient housing for those God brings our way who are preparing for vocational ministry. It’s an exciting time in the life of WEFC as we pursue the vision God has laid on our hearts.

In the meantime, here are some new pictures.
