    Exploring the Depths

WHILE THOUSANDS OF CLIMBERS have successfully scaled Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth, only two people have descended to the planet’s deepest point, the Challenger Deep in the Pacific Ocean’s Mariana Trench.

The Mariana Islands are located in the western Pacific, east of the Philippines. The trench is nearly 7 miles deep from the surface of the ocean to its deepest point, the Challenge Deep. If Mount Everest were dropped into the Mariana Trench, its peak would still be more than a mile underwater!

Why is that people go to such great lengths to follow their curiousity? I think it’s because of their quest to want to understand the world in which we live.

Although the Bible tells us that God is unfathomable, that doesn’t mean that we cannot know him. As a matter of fact, God longs to reveal Himself to us. And unlike the Challenge Deep, you can discover the treasures of God’s Word without risking your life by getting crushed by thousands of pounds of pressure!

This summer, we invite you to Explore God’s Word through Our Summer Sermons. This will not be a series, but rather selected passages of scripture throughout the summer. Our services are at 8:30 and 10:30 am. We look forward to seeing you there…scuba gear not required!
