If The Weather Outside Is Frightful, Let’s Go On Retreat!

YEAR IN AND YEAR OUT, Winter Retreats continuously prove to be pivotal moments for students in our middle school and high school ministries. I love what the Winter Retreats provide – namely, the opportunity for students to separate from the patterns and problems of everyday life in order to spend time focused on God with their like-minded peers and leaders. There’s just something unique about the way students are open to hearing God’s voice when they’re not surrounded 24/7 by so many other voices. I can’t wait to see what God will do this year!

Our Middle School Ministry Winter Retreat is on February 2-4, and not only is it at Camp Spofford, but it is actually being put on by the Camp Spofford staff. Camp will be packed out by area youth groups, and along with incredible fun, like cardboard sled races and bounce houses in the gym, the weekend will encourage students to own their faith for themselves. The theme, “Take Hold” comes from Philippians 3:12. I am excited to process what this looks like with our students on this incredible weekend.

Our High School Ministry Winter Retreat is the following weekend, February 9-11, also at Camp Spofford. This will be a traditional retreat weekend, where, while we share the grounds of camp with other groups, we are operating our own retreat, tailored specifically towards our high school students. Registration for the HSM Winter Retreat is open through January 21st. You can register your student at the following link: HSM Winter Retreat Registration
