Quarterly Church Prayer Summit
ON SATURDAY, MARCH 10 FROM 9:00 TO 10:30 am, the leadership of the church invites you to join them for a time of corporate prayer.
Why gather for prayer?
Consider these thoughts from Leonard Ravenhill.
“No man is greater than his prayer life.
The pastor who is not praying is playing.
The people who are not praying are straying.
We have many organizers, but few agonizers;
Many players and payers, few prayers;
Many singers, few clingers;
Lots of pastors, few wrestlers;
Many fears, few tears;
Much fashion, little passion;
Many interferers, few intercessors;
Many writers, but few fighters.
Failing here, we fail everywhere.”
Consider also this insight on the Power of Prayer by Jim Cymbala:
“The truth of the matter is that the devil is not terribly frightened of our human efforts and credential. But he knows his kingdom will be damaged when we lift up our hearts to God.”
Why pray? Apart from God, we can do nothing. “Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit says the LORD of Hosts.”
